Timeless Pulse – Quintet
We just got sent a fabulous CD, Quintet by Timeless Pulse from New York's Mutable Music. The experimental improv group – formed in 1993 during a residency at Deep Listening Institute – recorded in 2005 five compositions of 'warm, compassionate tapestries of soft, rolling sounds performed by accordion, cymbals, drums, chimes, sampled sounds , and voice'. Very enjoyable listening.
Constellation, a new interactive light installation by Peter Trevelyan, is about to open at Dunedin's Blue Oyster Gallery and will run from August 21-September 8. Running concurrently at the gallery will be another exhibition, Elsewhere, by Brydee Rood, a self-inflating project swelling with linkages of changing ground, shrinking worlds, breeding and spreading.
