US Government Prepares for Martial Law

Dear All,
As someone who follows closely events in America and the effects of its foreign policy, I have become alarmed recently at how rapidly developments have been escalating. The mainstream media, at best, is of no help so I'm putting together here a collection of videos on You Tube for those who are interested. The reality is that it's now more than 20 years since Bill Moyer's ground-breaking PBS documentary, The Secret Government - The Constitution in Crisis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82g3KxcFuoY US democracy has been slipping for a long time but it has now reached a critical point. It is unfortunately a sign of how completely governement has become a tool of corporate interests that it has been a Democrat controlled Congress that has delivered the Bush Administration its final tools, including the legislation enabling it to attack Iran without consulting Congress. As an American / New Zealander who has family serving in Iraq, I feel a responsibility to disseminate this information and to do what I can to prevent this situation from reaching our shores. This is a new age and the key to coping with it is to be armed with information. This information is available. The following clips are the tip of the iceberg but provide some of the picture of what is really happening politically in our world.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=649qRkW0vsE Here is Bill Maher (America's edgiest and most politically astute comic) talking to the country's leading investigative journalist Seymour Hersh about the situation with Iran and Lebanon and how the US has switched policy to now actually actively fund Al Qaeda in an effort to provoke a region-wide civil war between Shiite and Suunni. Hersh uncovered the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam and also Abu Ghraib in Iraq. For the last couple years Hersh has focused exclusively on Iran which will almost certainly be our next war, shortly to commence.

Those who follow politics closely understand it is Cheney who is the key figure and decision-maker in this administration. This series shows how Cheney has been working towards this situtation for more than 30 years since his time with Nixon. It's interesting to see how even the far-right element of the Repbulican Party has been shocked by the radicalism of Cheney. The media only reports Cheney's view but actually there always been a large amount of opposition to this within the governement and even the CIA.

Some of these already exist, left over from World War 2 when 100, 000 Japanese were interned for several years. I'm still working to verify the concentration camp situation but they certainly exist in the Middle East. Naomi Wolf reports that children are now being interned in them.

This docrine, which as been described as the 'master narrative of our times', was first used in Russia at the collapse of the Soviet Union and in Iraq after the US invasion. The results have been similar and ultimately lead to extremism and authoritarian government.

Maher lost his former network show Politically Incorrect for being outspoken after September 11. Nonetheless he's surfaced again on HBO with a vengeance with Real Time with Bill Maher.
