If in Auckland the next few days, be sure to head over to ARTSPACE, Saturday 22 September, 5:30 pm, for the long-awaited launch of The National Grid issue 3. Run by graphic designers Luke Wood (Lyttleton) and Jonty Valentine (Auckland), the high quality print publication features some of NZ's most experimental designers and writers, including the indefatiguable Harold Grieves, and many more. Russell designed the cover for the new issue, which can be seen above, and will be perfoming at the launch party together with Andrew Moon (RST). We haven't seen the new issue yet but if the first two are anything to go by, don't miss out! This will be will an issue to cherish for years to come.

Celebretard Magazine Arrives in Wellington
The recent Zine Fest run successfully by Kylie Buck and the Wellington Library at Wesley Church Hall highlighted the growing strength and diversity of the city's local independent publishing scene. Among the surprises was the launch of brand-new irreverant zine / literary mag Celebretard. Co-edited by Wellington self-publishing veteran Kerry Ann Lee (editor of Help My Snowman's Burning and founder of previous zine distro Red Letter Distro) and Dane Taylor (Diamond Dane T.), the large-sized publication features outrageous collage design and interviews with local luminaries including Coco Solid, Jeremy Randerson (Foxton Fizz), Nick Austin (of Gambia Castle), The Mysterious Tape Man and Peter Mcleavey. Long-time fans of Mcleavey will be shocked and dazzled. To acquire a copy of Celebretard, visit one of the Wellington stockists Dandelion, Eyeball Kicks or Good As Gold.
